Spring Forward

I am very happy to be in the 2008 Beijing Olympic. No, i am not in any of the sport events.

I am taking part in the Ravelrympics 2008, in the Team Sock Put, a challenge that is to start and finish a project during the 2008 Olympic Summer Games.

I choose Spring Forward, a lace sock pattern with twist and turn design.

Material :

Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock Lightweight (100% Superwash Merino), Colour : Footzey-Foo, Addi Turbo 32", 3mm circular needle.

Method :

Turkish Cast On, 2-at-1-time Toe-Up socks, Short Row Heels, Sewn Cast Off.

I really love knitting in this yarn, and the colorway is beautiful, wonderful feel and is the perfect colour for me - Green

Once Bitten, Twice Not Shy.....

Spirogyra is a very nice pattern to knit with, and plus the "oh -so" soft and pastel sweet colour yarn makes it a perfect combinations !! I SIMPLY can't resist not knitting it again.

My second time using the pattern for my 2-at-1-time on a 32" Addi Turbo Circular Needle, with my own calcuations and design, the slanting shell stitch pattern only starts to sprials around in opposite side on the leg.

Back in 1998....

While updating the Simply Love into the photobucket album. I discovered that way back in 1998, i already know how to knit sock....baby socks. This was where i learned from -

I have the habit of writting down the date, the place and the price on every book that i buy. See, the date is 27 June 1998 in a little craft shop. The price is S$19. Wow, that is a long time - 10 years ago. It is just like hitting a long-forgotten gold mine.

26 August 1998 is a day of a new chapter in my life, i have become a mother.

There are many cute baby knit and crochet items in the books. The one that caught my attention is the baby socks and the baby booties.

I knitted 1 pair of baby sock and 1 pair of booties following the symbol chart in this book within 2 month.

One of the baby sock has gone missing when we moved house.

The 100% cotton yarn -Live Cotton, a Japanese brand - is in my stash box. But the white one has since turns to bits of yellow spot here and there.

Says Hi to Jaywalker

Yarn : LionBrand Yarn * Magic Stripes #202 Sea Blue

Needles : Size 3 (3.25mm) double pointed knitting needles, set of 5

Pattern : here

My Jaywalkers are finished. I enjoy knitting socks lately. After my first pair was done in June. I had been wanting/longing to knit the second one but had been procrastinating. This pattern is easy to remember, and follow. After the one down, the other one is a breeze to me. I have shorten the length, instead of 6 3/4 inches, i did 5 inches.

Sock knitting is a challenge hobby. With so many techniques and ways, it is an never-ending story.

My first pair of socks

Yarn : Lion Brand *Magic Stripes
Needles : Aero size 3.25mm double pointed, set of 4
Length : 20cm

This is the first time i have knitted socks, using 4 double pointed needles.
